Hi folks, this will be short as this is happening today:
1.) Bicyclists and safety advocates in San Carlos will be placing a “ghost bike “on the Holly Street over crossing to Highway 101 at 4 PM Thursday, December 12 to honor Andrea, Vallebueno. Andrea was struck and killed by a car exiting the freeway last month and we are demanding safety changes. TRONT has covered our activities in May be present tomorrow. The SJ Mercury News will be present. This is obviously a dangerous spot so let’s meet 1/2 block west at the intersection of Holly and industrial. Bring a candle. Maybe an umbrella.
2.) Family Bike Day in San Carlos is Sun, Feb 2, 9:30am-12:30pm, with a rain date of Sun, Feb 9. Bike Day is our big chance to interface with a LOT of kids, parents, city organizations and city staff at once, and make a big difference in bike safety, bike riding appeal, and bike maintenance skills.

PS--A group of us is meeting with city staff today, thursday, at 2:10pm at Plantation Coffee to discuss ideas for improving bike safety until the bike bridge funding comes through. If you have any suggestions, please reply to this email, or if you want to come, feel free.
